Everyone loves magnets! There is something irresistible about their magical attractive force.

First inspired by her desire to create elegant jewelry using today's fabulous fibers, Barbara Zucker has begun creating a line of unique magnetic clasps under the name MagKnit™. The design (patent pending) is like no other.

The knitted necklaces showcase a range of fibers, from simple merino, to eyelash novelty yarns, to glittering metallics. Shawlettes, with clasps, are a new concept in accessories. Cozy and warm around the neck, but without the bulk or weight of a sweater or shawl, more finished than a scarf, they are the perfect pick-me-up for your winter wardrobe. When edged with fur trim they make a luxurious statement.

Pearl torsades are in the news these days. When finished with the MagKnit clasp, they take on a whole new spin. And by adjusting the twist, you can adjust the length of your necklace. Available in a variety of hues: pink, green, beige/brown and eggplant/grey.

Genuine beads (no glass or synthetics are used) provide a whole spectrum of possibilities. Coral, new jade, turquoise, amber are only the beginning. Coming soon: black lava with red coral and white pearls, smoky quartz with Mongolian agate, carnelian with fire agate, just to name a few!

Barbara Zucker's original magnetic clasps were made of sterling silver or vermeil with separate endcaps. To streamline their function, and make them lighter in weight and more affordable, they no longer have endcaps, and are made of pewter, which is hand polished and plated in gold or nickel. Designed to wear in front, they are then combined with knitted fibers and yarns (cashmere anyone?), or pearls, or beads to create the array of jewelry and accessories seen here. More designs are coming soon!

The newest addition to the BZ MagKnit line of magnetic clasps is a much smaller V shaped clasp, in sterling silver. To make sure you are notified as new models become available, click here to sign up for our newsletter.
